About This Site

singapore personal trainer

This site was created for 2 reasons:

1) To chronicle my journey of fat loss as I go from 25% fat to my personal goal of single digits (9% or less) and to show that it can be done after 40!
2) To provide information on losing fat, getting ripped and to share the knowledge, making it 100% free to everyone!

In the pursuit of my own fat loss goal, I got so tired of surfing the hundreds and thousands of diet sites out there, looking for answers, and then realizing that every site offered a “special low price to find out more!”. They were selling diets, forum memberships, e-books, etc.. and how many times did I see the tagline “top diet secrets finally revealed!”. It’s ridiculous! It’s fat loss, not rocket science!  There are no secrets that have just been revealed!  This is a site for older guys looking to get ripped and look even better than ever before. The information should be free to everyone… and it is here.

In the end, this site is just a place to share my journey and provide inspiration to others wanting to achieve a lean body again. You won’t find anything that I’m selling or charging for here. I’m not trying to get some huge fan base or create a million dollar website. I don’t care if it’s just myself and a couple other people that are wanting to also do this. For the few people that have questions, I’m here to tell what I’ve learned and more importantly, to show what I’ve learned.

This is the blog of me, a 42 year old guy who decided at 40 that there was no reason I couldn't be as lean as I wanted to be. This blog is to provide inspiration to anyone who thinks s/he is too old. I have never had bodybuilding genes or an athletic build but at 42, I am now 4% bodyfat and ripped!.

Figure out how many calories your body uses every day and how many you need daily to burn fat. Calculate your Lean Body Mass (LBM) and your current body fat. A very useful calculator!

Heart Rate Calculator

Determine the best target heart rate zone for your exercise regimen.

If you are in good health or a beginner or intermediate exerciser, burn fat between 60% and 70% of your maximum heart rate. If you are in good aerobic shape and can be considered an advanced exerciser, you can select a target heart rate zone between 70% and 85% of your maximum heart rate.

Note that these are theoretical numbers based on common research. Please consult your physician to determine if these numbers are best for you.

Maximum Fat Burn Zone = 60% of Maximum Heart Rate to 70% of Maximum Heart Rate

Maximum Cardio Benefit Zone = 70% of Maximum Heart Rate to 85% of Maximum Heart Rate

Danger Zone = 85% of Maximum Heart Rate to Maximum Heart Rate
