My Diet Tips

I’ve always been strict about diet. Diet is the key. Working out 7 days a week, by itself, will help to change your body but only minimally. The true key to changing your look is what you’re eating. I typically eat all of my food within a 6-hour window from noon to 6. I don’t eat before or after this. I only drink water. My lunch is typically a can of tuna and some wheat rice. I snack on nuts when I’m hungry. My later afternoon meal is usually a healthy portion of a lean protein meat, such as grilled chicken breast, some vegetables and an apple.
Are there foods you should never eat?
The worst foods you can eat, as far as slowing or stopping progress in getting ripped are the following: french fries, cold cereal, bread or anything fried
You’ll never see me eating these foods at any time!

I’ve never been able to get into the treadmill and I definitely don’t get crazy with cardio but I do believe you have to max your heart rate to keep supercharging your metabolism. I do hill sprints about 20 – 30 minutes, 4 days a week. I run up a steep hill as fast as possible, turn around and lightly jog back to the bottom, and head up the hill again as fast as I can.
The leaner I became, the more I started wanting to do crunches. As you begin to really see your abs, you’re desire to rip them up increases even more, but.. I don’t think they’re entirely necessary to cut up unless you’ve just never done a lot of exercise. In my case, I’ve always lifted and tried to stay in shape enough to keep the fat off. I had those abs but they had always been covered up with too much fat to see. I think many people would find this applies to them as well, once the fat starts coming off.
When I was committed to losing fat and getting ripped, the days were rare. I fought through some very tough situations such as family reunions with food and sweets all around me, and managed to stay the course. I might have had a cheat meal once a month and even then, I would never over-indulge. I would enjoy the taste and stop after 1 portion. After achieving my results, it’s been a different story. My metabolism is at an all time high. I still eat healthy but I’ve had cheat meals almost weekly for the last couple months and have not seen the slightest change in my physique. Getting there is the hard part. After that, you can reward yourself a couple times a week and your metabolism will keep things in check.
Can an ordinary person really expect to diet faithfully for a couple years?!
Why not? I did. I’m not super human or some extraordinary individual who was gifted with more self control than everyone else. For me, the secret was looking at the differences every 3 months. Every time, the results were substantial and that was enough to keep me going.
I definitely hit plateaus and tried to mix my exercise up to break these. If your plateau is 2 weeks long or more, you absolutely need to change things. This is one of the biggest mistakes I see people make. They keep doing the same thing, even if they see no results, thinking that if they’re not going backwards, they’re ok and they will break their plateau. If you’re not seeing results, change it. Simple as that.
State of mind is the most important thing. What you think, you become. Your thoughts are very real and create the world around you. For anything that anyone ever achieves, a great focus and energy has to be exerted toward that goal. You have to constantly think about your goal. You have to dwell on it in the morning, during the day and when you go to bed. Weigh yourself daily, take measurements, chart.. anything you can do to bring more focus to your ultimate goal. If you do this, you simply can’t fail. Too many people work out 1 hour a day, go home and eat “decent” and wonder why they don’t see results. That’s not enough. You’re not living the diet and you’re not focused enough. State of mind will create the perfect diet for you and ultimately the perfect physique.
